Emmanuel Okpala is a first class degree graduate of Chemical Engineering (B.Eng.) from Covenant University. He is a certified CompTIA Project + Associate. He served as the Ibadan chapter president of the then National Youth Service Corp -Millennium Development Goals (NYSC-MDGs) community development service group (CDS) where they embarked on several laudable projects addressing the MDGs across the state while he was a serving Corp member. In addition, he has had good experience working across several teams and delivering set targets. He has a contagious passion when it comes to waste and resource recovery; this has prompted him to join the Chanja Datti Team, where he hopes to apply skills garnered from his first degree to solve some of the environmental challenges Nigeria grapples with.

He holds a B. Tech in Industrial Chemistry from the Federal University of Technology Akure and has keen interests in Human and Agricultural waste management. This has influenced him to conduct numerous personal projects like the “Extraction of Biogas (Methane CH4 gas) from Biodegradable Human and Agricultural Waste in a Simple Biodigester.” “Waste-to-Waste Reduction of Polyethylene Terephtalate PET Into Pellets by Balers as a Unit of the complete Recycling Process’’ amongst others. He currently works with the African Liberty Organization for Development and was a participant at LEAP Africa/Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo) Limited Youth Empowerment/Employability Programme. He is also an alumnus of the Students and Young Professionals Liberty Academy held at the University of Cape-Town Graduate School of Business (UCT-GSB), South Africa; having also been trained by the Joint Initiative for Development in partnership with Heinrich Boll Stiftung-Nigeria on a Green Internship Programme.

Oludayo has also worked at Diptot Communications and the Ondo State Water Corporation. He has an impressive portfolio of volunteer engagements, gaining vast experience locally and internationally. He is an invaluable resource to the Chanja Datti project team.

The Head of Legal Services and Company Compliance, Anita is a legal practitioner with expertise ranging from legal analysis, research, project management, company formation, environmental best practices etc. She has over 10 years of professional experience working in both the private and public sectors in the UK and Nigeria. Until May 2015, she was Technical Assistant to Nigeria’s Minister of Power, where she assisted with legal advice on matters relating to the electricity sector within the purview of the governing laws and provides strategies for the promotion and procurement of foreign direct investment into the newly privatized Sector. She has a passion for living green and preservation of the environment, which has translated to her joining the Chanja Datti team. She is a member of Waste Management Society of Nigeria (WAMASON), Abuja chapter; a member of the Green Coalition of Abuja and a well-respected lawyer.

She is a seasoned business analyst with over 5 years experience in the Nigerian Power and IT sectors. She is currently an Executive Assistant to the CEO of Pegasus Energy Consulting, Abuja. She holds a BSc. in Industrial Chemistry from Covenant University, Ota and has been actively involved in several research projects, environmental and social impact assessment and the implementation of several projects in the Nigerian Power sector. She has also been involved in various community development projects within rural communities and in the training of women and youth on the importance of formal education and wholesome environmental practices. Simisola’s professional experience cuts across numerous reputable organizations including Pearl Light Consulting, Federal Ministry of Agriculture, iDeltaTechnology Solutions Ltd. and PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc. She is passionate about the Chanja Datti project and her background in Industrial Chemistry is most valuable to our processes, quality controls and environmental impact assessment of our operations.

She holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting and Finance from Northeastern University in Boston, graduating Cum Laude, and a Masters degree in Financial Management from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business in New York. She has over 17 years of global financial, strategy and project improvement experience, and until May 2015, spent 3 years as a Senior Aide to Nigeria’s Honorable Minister of Power covering Investments, Finance & Donor Relations, where she led the charge in attracting investors and investments into the Nigerian Power Sector, especially in the Post privatization era, and provided strategic recommendations around activities and areas critical to the Sector’s Investment growth. She has tremendous experience, an outstanding track record of delivery, and an astute ability to work across teams which she gained from her 12 years as a General Electric (GE) Executive in the U.S, where she was a Vice President, working in the largest GE Capital Americas business. Prior to that, she worked for Stop and Shop Inc. (now Ahold International), Quincy, Massachusetts as a Warehousing Accountant. She has worked as a Tax and Legal Services Associate at Arthur Andersen LLP and also as an Internal Auditor at Northeastern University. She is passionate about environmental and waste management, women and youth empowerment, as well as entrepreneurial development.

She is also an Exco member of Waste Management Society of Nigeria (WAMASON), Abuja chapter; Associate member of WIMBIZ (Women in Management, Business & Public Service), a Nigerian NGO, the lead coordinator for the Green Coalition of Abuja and is a celebrated speaker and mentor especially to girls and women.
